we are practicing this weekend at the usual times. Saturday 9 am - 1 pm and Sunday from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm.

Please be on time, bring plenty of water and as usual, be ready to leave it all on the floor.

Journey has continued to work hard and strived to make the honor roll all three trimesters during this, his last year. In previous years, he’s made the honor roll the last two report periods.

On this first report card, he was able to see his hard work come to fruition.  The awards ceremony was last Friday, 12/11 and his teacher praised his work ethic and humble attitude.

During the program, he was also recognized along with other students as testing advanced in both math and english on the California State proficiency test and advancing to another level in both subjects.

We were very proud of Journey, our PBC Student/Athlete.

The event is held periodically to raise funds to cover expenses for the program and Pressure families and their friends turn out in numbers to spin the roulette wheel, play Black Jack and roll the dice.

The theme for the evening was NBA attire but it seemed to me that it was LA Laker night because everywhere you looked there were Kobe jerseys (8 & 24), along with a classic Brian Grant 55 and Gary Payton 20 in the house as well.

Seven in a row leads to another championship!

The young guns came out with intensity and defense. We were able to win both of our games on Saturday with pressure defense. I’m sure at times our opponents thought we might have had 6 guys on the floor, these young guys were everywhere.

Everyone knows our philosophy, if you don’t play defense you don’t play.

This is our youngest group and their slowly seeing and starting to understand the Pressure way. Both of the teams we played on Saturday were pretty good and could have easily made it to the championship game on Sunday, but they played a young Pressure team who are getting better every time out.

Sunday’s first game proved to be a little warm up for the guys who played a younger team that was just over matched with the score reflecting just that. However, the championship game was a little more competitive and spirited. Basic Basketball came into the game undefeated as well and had no intentions of losing. Pressure was applied from the out set and Basic Basketball could never get started.

The MVP award went to Jaye Dickenson who did a nice job of grabbing rebounds and jumping into passing lanes which lead to easy transition baskets. An easy win got a little choppy as the guys built an early lead. It was nice to see them push through things.

When you continue to play the game the correctly and maintain your composure the end result will speak for itself.

Hello Pressure Family,

Thanks for your support this past weekend. We had a rough go of it at the Hardcore Hoops Classic we ended up splitting our two games on Saturday. With us being down with only a few seconds remaining, team Homecourt made a critical mistake, the fouled Kyle. Trailing by 1 Kyle walks to the line and calmly sinks both of his shots, game over good guys win.

Sunday brought a new day with new challenges. Playing without Kyle and Lance put us at a huge disadvantage; equate that to the Lakers not playing without Kobe and Lamar. Young Will did his best he came out firing scoring our first 9 points. Oh but again we all know what we say. You must be able to stop the other team. ( DEFENSE) It was non-existent. On the bright side we showed that when we’re patient and run our offense we can score and get easy shots. Defensively we had a few lapses, (missed rotations, boxing out, and getting back on defense. All of these things are correctable and I’m sure we will be addressing these things in practice. (If you don’t play defense you don’t play!)  Playing with the boys for the first time Shortie (Shavon) did a pretty good job, she’s going to be real good.
