Micah Shirley – Player of the Year!

Last month, we talked about Pressure Basketball Club players on the gridiron, specifically Jordan Whaley, (sophomore Flintridge Prep,) who was named to the All League Defensive 2nd Team as a linebacker.

Well, at a recent banquet, Micah Shirley, (sophomore Bell-Jeff,) was honored for setting the school record for receiving yards with over 1,000 yards!   

Micah led the league in catches and yards per catch helping his team to their first playoff win in school history!

He was also named to the All League 1st Team as a receiver and voted Offensive Player of the Year! 

Emery Else, Elijah Reed, Andre Frazier-Stanley and Elliot Dennis (also attending Bell-Jeff), received football honors as well. Emery was named “Most improved” with 3 interceptions for touchdowns.  

Elijah received the “Coaches Award” for his versitility on offense and defense as well as his drive and willingness to learn.

Andre was awarded “Most Inspirational” for leadership, his infamous “spider-like takles” and the ability to “fire up the team with big plays” on defense.

Finally, Pressure newcomer Elliot Dennis (senior/Bell-Jeff) was named to the All League Defense 2nd team as a linebacker. 

One other thing to note; Elliot Dennis, Micah Shirley and Elijah Reed were all recognized as Scholar Athletes for maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better during the season!
