Else, Frazier, Reed & Shirley Earn Honors!

April 14, 2010 by admin

BURBANK - Andre Frazier, Emery Else, Elijah Reed and Micah Shirley were all part of the original Pressure Basketball Club team and are currently teammates on the at Bellarmine-Jefferson Guards varsity squad in Burbank Ca.

This year, they helped their team to it’s most successful season in 12 years by going 19-6 (4-2 in league).

The Bell-Jeff Guards took second place in the Santa Fe league and reached the CIF Div VA quarter-finals before losing to eventual CIF Div VA Champions Besant Hill of Ojai.

Their success did not go unnoticed as they all were recently awarded a variety of honors from CIF and local publications.

Andre Frazier/Sophomore Forward, Bell-Jeff

All-Santa Fe League first-team and All-CIF Southern Section Division V-A second-team pick averaged 14.3 points, 13.1 rebounds and 4.7 blocks per game while leading Guards to the CIF quarterfinals.

Andre was also awarded All-Area 1st team Honors by the Burbank Leader as well as the Burbank Times and named team MVP.

Emery Else/Senior Guard, Bell-Jeff

Emery, who averaged 6.7 points and 3.3 steals was also selected to the All-Santa Fe League first-team and selected to the Burbank Times All-Area 2nd team.

He was also named Defensive player of the year for the Guards.

Micah Shirley/Junior Forward, Bell-Jeff

Micah averaged 10 points and was selected to the Burbank Times All-Area 2nd team.

Elijah Reed/Sophomore Guard, Bell-Jeff

Elijah averaged 4 points and 2.7 steals. He was named the teams Most Improved Player and awarded the Farmers Insurance 2010 Student-Athlete Citizen award for his 3.9 GPA, play on the court and work in the community with his Elijah’s Angels organization.

Our goal with Pressure Basketball Club is to not only help our players learn the game but to help develop them into upstanding young men and women who will excel in life both on and off the court.

Andre, Emery, Elijah and Micah have been with us from our inception and the Pressure staff and family would like to congratulate them for their achievements and are glad to see they are excelling at the high school level.
