35th Annual Mack Calvin Basketball Camp!

Pressure Players spend a week with an NBA Legend!

August 11th – 15th, former Coach and 7 time NBA Allstar Mack Calvin held his annual “Mack Calvin Fundamental Basketball Camp” at Long Beach Cabrillo High School.

This year marked the 35th Anniversary of this outstanding event with over 220 campers in attendence.

Coach Calvin really out did himself this year, providing the campers with a gruling week of offensive and defensive fundamental drills and daily scrimmages. Coach Calvin also had an assortment of guest speakers including, Long Beach Police Chief Anthony W. Batts, who spoke on education, entering the work force as well as avoiding gang’s and peer pressure.

The highlight of the camp was an all day scrimmage on Friday were Andre Frazier and Tyre Godwin shined in the 17U competiton! Nate Miyagishima and Josh Procter also stepped up their game and eared respect on the court from their fellow players.

As always, sponsers like Merrell Lynch along with Mack Calvin himself helped make the week long affair free of charge!

Pressure Players who attended include, Andre Frazier, Elijah Reed, Emery Else, Nate and Miles Miyagishima, Mike Wilson, Teren and Amber Hart, Mike Doshi, Jason Goodwin, Josh Procter and Tyre Godwin.

Amber Hart was awarded the “Outstanding Camper Award” for being courteous and helpful with lunch clean up all week long!
